New Sleeping Tapes Single "Heckler at the House Show, 2017" Streaming Everywhere Now!
We're still (kind of) a band.
Or at the very least, there’s a new Sleeping Tapes song out now called “Heckler at the House Show, 2017.” You can stream it wherever you stream music.
At first, this was my attempt at writing a diss-track, though it’s still pretty nice, so I guess it turned out to be a song trying to hype myself up a little bit. I have a bad habit of constantly replaying over and over in my head whatever negative things I’ve overheard people say. As the title suggests, this can go on for years and it gets really old. This song helped quiet that voice down, at least a little. Also, I realized after I posted it online that although I put 2017 in the title, the actual house show I’m referring to happened in 2016, but that doesn’t matter.
We recorded this at Metrognome Audio in WF with Eric and Payton who also both play guitars on this. They were really great at replicating what I was going for when I gave them references like “try to play the bubble popping noises of Postal Service” or “Plans era Death Cab intro music.” The single art and bass playing are thanks to Tyler. This song turned out better than I hoped for and it’s all credit to those guys. Hope you like it.
